Safest Drugs

·         Fenofibrate, which is least likely to interfere with statin metabolism, appears to be the safest fibrate to use with statins.

·         Doxycycline at recommended doses does not accumulate significantly in patients with renal failure and thus is one of the safest of the tetracyclines for use in patients with renal impairment. The drug is excreted in the feces.

·         Because of its short half-life, TOLBUTAMIDE is the safest sulfonylurea for elderly diabetics.

·         The safest laxatives for chronic use include the bulk formers and stool softeners.

·         Nitrous oxide is safest of inhalational anaesthetics.
